About this book

This book retells who the family at Tŷ Mawr were, and what the record holds on each of them. It is built only from cited records: census and directory entries, death notices and indexes, press reports, estate and court papers. Where a link between two people rests on inference, the book marks it as inferred; where a record is still to be obtained, it is marked SOURCE PENDING.

The farm passed through the women of the family as well as the men. Mary Doreen (Nancy) Williams was born in the house in 1913, lived there all her life, took back her maiden name when she was widowed, and held the house until her death in 1983. Her place in this book reflects that.

Living members of the family are not named in this edition, except Branwen by her first name where a record needs her.
